UbD Template Overview Stage #2
Stage 2 of the UbD template and process is all about determining the acceptable evidence to properly assess the effectiveness of the course. It begins with goals established in Stage #1 and how you will assess and help the students develop an enduring understanding of the key concepts you have or will be sharing with them. Next, you will need to establish the assessment process for the items that are important to know and the items that are worth being familiar with (Wiggins & McTighe, 2011). Once you have established the assessment process you will then need to create a grading system, using a rubric. This will ensure a clear consistent grading structure is maintained and the student have a clear expectation of what will be graded and how (Wiggins & McTighe, 2011).
