Welcome To the Course
Welcome to Understanding Learning in a New Way! I am very pleased that you have decided to take the first step to improving your skillset and the effectiveness of your courses. This course is designed to be taken over the course of 5 weeks but could easily be completed in 2 to 3 weeks if you have the time needed to read the materials and complete course content. As learning professionals in a Care Center environment it may be difficult to set aside the needed time to complete required reading while at work, so I suggest planning time on the weekends for the reading. The book for this course is, Make It Stick: The Science of Successful Learning by Peter C. Brown, Henry L. Roediger III, and Mark A. McDaniel. You can purchase this on Amazon for about $20.00. This course should not be rushed through, instead you should take all of the time needed to fully understand the content. Remember, learning is not a sprint it is a race that lasts a lifetime.

Course Overview
Designed to improve your skillset as a learning professional, this course will introduce you to the science of learning. The science of learning is a new school of thought that takes learnings from the field of neuroscience and applies them to teaching. These approaches have been empirically proven to produce more effective learning experiences and improve overall student retention.
Each week we will review two chapters from Make It Stick along with supplemental materials. At the end you will have a chance to test your knowledge and review some of the key concepts.
