What are Digital Rights & Responsibilities and why is it important?
Digital Rights and Responsibilities are the items given freely to all members of the digital society (Ribble, 2015). These are important because members of the digital society need to understand the rights and responsibilities that come along with membership into the group. group members should be able to expect certain behaviors and actions from their fellow members based on the standards of the community. For example if someone an original photo or artwork, the owner should be able to expect that other members of the group will not destroy, defame or otherwise deface the original work.

Within a customer care center the majority of the work we do involves digital assets of one form or another, so it is very important that the users of these resources understand what comes along with having access to these resources. To help with this we have yearly training which explain the appropriate use of our technology assets and how to report misuse. These training sessions reinforce the idea that with great powers, comes great responsibility.
