FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS
FINAL LMs evaluation introduction
Welcome to the final week of LMS evaluations. This week’s focus was on deciding the best system for our company based on 6 weeks of intensive review.
LMS and QM EVALUATION RESULTS
LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RECOMMENDATION
My recommendation is for our company to implement D2L as the new Learning Management System. Based on six weeks of intensive review I feel that D2L will prove to be the best solution for the current Learning and Development team and will be most widely accepted by our associates. The D2L system is exactly in the middle of the road, balancing standard web based learning with cutting edge design. D2L will appeal to the broadest audience and should be easily accepted by our workforce. I am also suggesting that we complete a similar evaluation in the next five to seven years. Based on information gathered during this review I have learned that there are several newcomers to the LMS arena and I fully expect the environment to change significantly in next several years.

QUALITY MATTERS RECOMMENDATION
In addition, to my recommendation for our new Learning Management System I have also learned about program for online course creation called Quality Matters. I strongly advise that we begin participating in this program immediately. Quality Matters has a learner centered, review process that is designed to certify the quality of online courses. The review is completed by peers in the learning industry utilizing a rubric with 8 general standards and 43 specific review standards. This will allow us to address many of the issues we are experiencing in the early stages of the course creation. Additionally, by teaching our Learning and Development team about the standards used in a QM review we can anticipate correct issues before they arise.
